Ella Nelson – Interview with a Young National Champion

Ella Nelson on being a nation’s champion, juggling an extreme?training schedule back with her studies?and beating low self-esteem fuelled by cyber bulling.

Reigning 200-metre national safe bet Ella Nelson officially made the woman mark in sports this year when your woman beat out?’Queen of the Track’, Sally Pearson.

“It was the Modern australia Track Classic this coming year when I won in the personal best time [23.Twenty four seconds] and beat Sue [Pearson] and Mel [Breen]. I think folks really started to observe and respect me at that point,” Nelson claimed.

“I tried to get as near as I could for you to Mel and Sal coming over bend and I believed if I put on force then maybe I could find them.

“I like to come home as being a train, that’s my own signature, and it just a matter of really configuring it.”

What’s best about Nelson’s underdog success against Pearson and 100m success Melissa Breen in March this year, is that the 21-year-old offers lost her indicate of “rising star” and utilized herself as “serious contender”.

“That took a massive hit at my self esteem and so coming back from that’s my biggest obstacle.?It was a massive turning point for me and I proved helpful very hard in the off-season connected with 2013 leading in 2014,” Nelson said.

A Dietetics student at Sydney University, Nelson manages to fit in a new full-time training schedule, including Pilates twice a 7 days, sprint sessions to normal three times a week (a single hill session), and one grass tempo period. There’s also 3 health and fitness center sessions, aimed to compliment each of the track periods.

Well, whoa… that’s a single serious schedule! So what on earth drives and provokes Ella Nelson?

“I hate disappointing men and women, and I hate discouraging myself! So that’s a massive one, and also my big fantasy to be an Olympian. My personal training group and coach are great far too.

“I love that it’ohydrates such a pure sport – the fastest wins! Your 200m is great because you be able to slingshot off the bend,Inch she said.

Ella Nelson-15And currently, Nelson’s as happy as well as excited as ever seeing that she prepares to help embark on competition within Europe next month.

“I’ll become competing in European countries to try and get some rapidly times in just before I head off for you to Beijing at the IAAF earth championships,” the lady said.

Competing in The european countries is extra-exciting for Nelson because it’s a chance to compete appropriately, to be re-numerated for managing in her chosen activity!

“You can win anywhere between euro 50 pound and $10000 depending on the regular of the meet and where you place. It’s a terrific opportunity to put yourself against the fast girls, generate a name or by yourself and win some money.

“I definitely think most Australian athletes may gain advantage from competing abroad, especially in Europe wherever they have A, B, and C races providing individuals with a shot at a few experience,” Nelson stated.
